Comment / Roaring down runway 25 as the first Shuttle of the day from Newcastle to Heathrow.

Comment / After stopping at Newcastle overnight, G-EUUO heads south back to London Heathrow.

Comment / British Airways' first Shuttle flight of the day from Heathrow arrives against an inky blue sky with the rising sun obscured by a low bank of cloud in the horizon.

Comment / The first British Airways Shuttle of the day arrives at Newcastle from Heathrow during a stunning sunrise. Along with the likes of Manchester, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow, Newcastle is one of the few remaining airports in the UK out of London where you can see a BA tail!

Comment / G-EUUZ is British Airways' latest Airbus A320, delivered just 6 days earlier on 21st October.

Comment / Originally delivered to BA in December 1993, this Boeing 737 was leased out to EuroBelgian Airlines and Air Provence for a short while as OO-LTS, before returning to the British register in 1996.

Comment / It's UEFA Cup Final day at Manchester, and as G-BNWC approaches runway 05L at 0556 inbound from JFK, there are already tens of photographers lining up on the south side! Sadly, it was recently announced that BA's Manchester to New York JFK service - it's last remaining route outside of London - will end at the close of this year's summer season.

Comment / With the disposal of the series -100s completed over the winter, it seems BA's plans for expansion has given it's elderly Airbus A320 series -200s a stay of execution. The five aircraft were originally slated for retirement this year, but will now stay on line until 2010/11 as Boeing 757s are deployed to the new Open Skies project. Here, G-BUSG arrives at Newcastle in lovely morning sunlight.
